Don Elliott

I taught art education in Calgary, Alberta for 35 years, and recently retired to pursue my passion for painting, golf, travel, grand children and outdoor activities like running and biking.

I have worked with all levels of schools but taught primarily in junior and senior high. I was an Art Consultant with Calgary Board of Education, a University Associate at The University of Calgary in Faculty of Secondary Fine Arts and Elementary Education. Active in the ATA's Fine Arts Council, I serving once as provincial President. I have a B.Ed. and M.Ed. in Teaching and Learning.

My area of interest in art is broad but primarily is focused on drawing, painting, photography and sculpture. I have had experience with Children's Theatre set and costume design, advertising design, and illustration of children's stories. The most recent 'A Paint Brush for Piccolo'

When painting, my focus is on color, emotion, light and the impact they have on our perception of, and experience with the world around us.
